The OM2H is Collings' Orchestra Model in East Indian rosewood, with a Sitka spruce top, a Honduran mahogany neck and pre-war scalloped X-bracing. Herringbone purfling runs inside the ivoroid body binding, the ebony board carries abalone short diamonds and squares, and the rosette pairs an ivoroid, tortoise and ivoroid ring with black and white purflings. A zipper backstrip and a stained exotic ebony peghead veneer complete it, with high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer on the body.
The OM is a 14-fret body that Collings says suits fingerstyle soloists and flatpickers alike, and its depth of a little over 4" gives a balanced tone and an immediate response. The neck is a Modified V with a 1 11/16" bone nut. For the same body in mahogany, look at the OM1. The OM2H T is the Traditional Series version, and the OM2 A HC brings an Adirondack top and the Hill Country voicing to rosewood.
