The Parlor 1 T is Collings' long, narrow 12-fret parlor in Honduran mahogany with a Sitka spruce top, built to the Traditional Series spec. The body is 12 1/4" across, and with the neck meeting it at the 12th fret the petite pyramid bridge sits nearer the centre of the lower bout. The 24 7/16" scale keeps string tension down, and the 1 3/4" nut gives fingerpickers room.
It has a slotted peghead with engraved bronze Waverly 3-on-a-plate tuners on ebony buttons, tortoise binding with wood purflings, a walnut backstrip and gold mother-of-pearl dots in ebony. Collings braces its T guitars with a custom pre-war scalloped X and finishes the body in ultra-thin nitro. Collings credits the parlor shape with balance, quick response and easy portability.
In rosewood, the same guitar is the Parlor 2H T, and the Parlor Deluxe T dresses rosewood in wood mosaic trim. Any of the three can be built up with Collings' options for tops, finishes, trim and inlays, listed below.
