The Parlor 2H T puts East Indian rosewood back and sides on Collings' long, narrow 12-fret parlor body, under a Sitka spruce top and built to the Traditional Series spec. At 12 1/4" wide it sits small, and the 12-fret neck joint sets the petite pyramid bridge nearer the centre of the lower bout. A 24 7/16" scale keeps the tension easy, and the nut is 1 3/4".
The 2H trim is ivoroid binding with small brown herringbone purfling, a zipper backstrip and gold mother-of-pearl diamonds and squares in the ebony board. Up top is a slotted peghead with engraved bronze Waverly 3-on-a-plate tuners and ivoroid buttons. Collings braces it with its custom pre-war scalloped X, finishes the body in ultra-thin nitro, and credits the parlor shape with balance and quick response.
The mahogany version is the Parlor 1 T, and the Parlor Deluxe T keeps rosewood and moves to wood mosaic trim with a bound board. Collings' options for building it up, from tops and finishes to trim and inlays, follow below.
