The 1956 Precision Bass is the early single-coil P, before the 1957 redesign. One Custom Shop Hand-Wound '55 Precision Bass pickup, a 2-piece select ash body with an offset seam, and a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard, all under a Heavy Relic finish that looks like it has done the rounds for decades.
The neck is a 1955 Soft "V" with a 1.70" nut and a 7.25" radius, a rounder and more traditional feel than most modern basses. It ships with stainless steel flatwounds (.055-.105), which suit the thump this era of bass is known for, and the 2-saddle vintage-style bridge is true to the period. Master volume and master tone, nothing else.
The 1954 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic is the same early design with lighter wear, and the 1955 Precision Bass DLX Closet Classic lighter still. For the split pickup and the later layout, look at the 1958 Precision Bass Relic or the Vintage Custom '57 P Bass.
Three finishes: Faded Seminole Red, Aged Sonic Blue and Super Aged White Blonde.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from bass to bass, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
