Who this one is for

An early '60s rosewood-board Telecaster with the lightest aging in the range. DLX Closet Classic shows some finish checking and gentle wear, the look of a guitar kept mostly in its case. The body is 2-piece roasted alder with an offset seam, finished in Super Aged Lake Placid Blue with a 3-ply white pickguard.

The quartersawn maple neck has a '60s Oval "C" back, a 3A Rosewood board, a 9.5" radius and Jescar Vintage frets. Two Custom Shop Hand-Wound '63 Single-Coil Tele pickups use a modern three-way: bridge, both, neck. The strings-through-body bridge has threaded steel barrel saddles.

The 1961 Telecaster Heavy Relic is the same year and pickups with heavy wear, brass saddles and a parchment guard. For the bound version, look at the 1960 Telecaster Custom Heavy Relic, and for a lighter-aged mid '60s Tele, the 1966 Telecaster DLX Closet Classic.

The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
