Who this one is for

The Bass VI is a six-string bass tuned an octave below a guitar, on a 30" scale. It sits between the two: you can play bass lines or guitar shapes on it, and it ships with Bass VI strings (.025-.095). This 1962 version wears Super Heavy Relic aging, the most worn finish in the range, over a 2-piece select alder body.

Three Custom Shop Hand-Wound Flat Magnet Jaguar pickups each have their own on/off slide switch, so you can run any combination, with master volume and master tone. The quartersawn maple neck has a '60s Oval "C" back, a 3A Rosewood board, a 7.25" radius and a 1.555" nut. The bridge is an RSD Jaguar/Jazzmaster.

For lighter wear, the Bass VI DLX Closet Classic is the gentlest take, and the 1966 Bass VI Journeyman Relic with Gold Closet Classic Hardware sits in between with gold hardware.

Three finishes: Aged Dirty Shell Pink, Super Faded Ocean Turquoise and Super Aged Desert Sand.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
