Who this one is for

The 1963 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic is an early sixties Strat aged to the far end of the Time Machine wear scale, with the lacquer worn through as if it had been gigged hard for decades. Underneath is a 2-piece select ash body and a rift sawn maple neck with a 1963 Strat "C" back on a 3A rosewood board.

The 9.5" radius is flatter than the vintage 7.25", so bends are less likely to choke out high on the neck. Three Custom Shop Hand-Wound '60-'63 Single-Coil Strat pickups, with the middle one reverse wound and reverse polarity so positions 2 and 4 cancel hum. The 1/2 blend control brings the neck pickup into the bridge and bridge-and-middle positions for combinations a standard Strat can't reach. Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo and a 3-ply mint green pickguard.

For the same era with far less wear, look at the 1962 Stratocaster Relic. The 1965 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic carries the same aging a couple of years on, with an alder body, '65 pickups and a parchment guard.

Finishes are Super Faded Aged 3-Color Sunburst, Super Faded Aged 3-Color Sunburst Sparkle, Super Faded Aged Black over 3-Color Sunburst and Super Faded Aged Surf Green over 3-Color Sunburst.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
