The 1964 Jaguar Journeyman Relic is a mid-sixties Jaguar with light, played-in wear and a painted headcap matched to the body, as the originals had. Journeyman Relic sits between Closet Classic and Relic: checking, fading and a few honest marks rather than worn-through lacquer.
It keeps the 24" short scale, so string tension is lower and bends come easier, with 22 narrow tall frets on a 9.5" radius 3A rosewood board and a 1962 Jaguar neck shape. Two Custom Shop '62 Single-Coil Jaguar pickups each have their own on/off slide switch, and a third slide switch engages the bass-cut "strangle" circuit, which thins out the low end. The RSD Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge works with the floating vibrato and pop-in arm.
The 1963 Jaguar Journeyman Relic is the same idea a year earlier at the same aging level. For heavier wear, look at the 1965 Jaguar Heavy Relic, and for the long-scale offset, the 1963 Jazzmaster Relic.
Finishes are Faded Aged Burgundy Mist Metallic, Faded Aged Lake Placid Blue and Faded Aged Shoreline Gold.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
