The 1966 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic is a mid-sixties rosewood board P Bass with light, played-in wear: a 2-piece select alder body in Journeyman Relic lacquer and a quartersawn maple neck with a 1960 P Bass Oval "C" back.
The 3A rosewood board has a 7.25" radius and 20 medium jumbo frets, bigger than vintage wire, so there is less fingertip contact with the board. One Custom Shop Hand-Wound '65-'70 Precision Bass pickup, a volume and a tone, and a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge with threaded steel saddles on a 34" scale. The pickguard is 4-ply brown shell, or 3-ply parchment on the Lake Placid Blue.
For lighter aging and vintage frets, look at the 1965 Precision Bass DLX Closet Classic. The 1960 Precision Bass Relic is an earlier P Bass with more wear.
Finishes are Aged Natural, Super Faded Aged Lake Placid Blue and 3-Color Sunburst.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from bass to bass, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
