Who this one is for

The 1966 Telecaster DLX Closet Classic is a mid-sixties Tele with a maple board: a 2-piece select alder body in nitrocellulose lacquer, a quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard with black Micarta dots, and a 3-ply white pickguard. The aging is light, the look of a guitar kept with care.

The '60s Oval "C" neck has a 9.5" radius and Jescar Vintage frets. Two Custom Shop Hand-Wound '67 Single-Coil Tele pickups run through a 3-position blade with master volume and tone, and the 3-saddle strings-through-body bridge has threaded steel barrel saddles.

For the same pickups with a Bigsby and an ash body, see the 1967 Telecaster Bigsby DLX Closet Classic. The 1968 Telecaster Closet Classic has a rosewood board on a 7.25" radius, and the 1963 Telecaster Relic is an earlier rosewood Tele with more wear.

Finishes are Cimarron Red, Bleached 3-Color Sunburst and Aged Lake Placid Blue, all with a maple board.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
