The 1967 Stratocaster Relic with Closet Classic Hardware is a late sixties, large headstock Strat with a worn Relic finish and lighter-aged hardware, so it reads as a working guitar that was looked after. A 2-piece select alder body, a quartersawn maple neck with a '60s Oval "C" back, and a parchment-bound 3A rosewood board.
The 9.5" radius and narrow tall frets make bends cleaner than a vintage 7.25" board. Three Custom Shop Hand-Wound Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickups run through a 5-position blade, and the master volume has a Tone-Saver treble-bleed circuit, which keeps the highs from dulling as you turn down. One tone for the neck and middle and one for the bridge, a Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo and a 3-ply parchment pickguard.
For lighter aging and vintage '66 pickups, look at the 1966 Stratocaster DLX Closet Classic. The 1969 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic closes out the decade with a "U" neck and blend wiring.
Finishes are Aged Charcoal Frost Metallic, Aged Firemist Gold, Aged Blue Ice Metallic and Aged Ocean Turquoise.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
