Our take

Who this one is for

The 1967 Telecaster Bigsby DLX Closet Classic is a late sixties Tele with a Bigsby B5 vibrato and an RSD Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge in place of the usual saddles, on a 2-piece select ash body. The DLX Closet Classic aging is light: moderate finish checking and some hardware oxidation, the look of a guitar that was polished and kept with care.

The maple neck and maple fingerboard carry a '60s Oval "C" back, a 9.5" radius, narrow tall frets and black Micarta dots. Two Custom Shop Hand-Wound '67 Single-Coil Tele pickups, master volume and a Greasebucket tone circuit, which takes off highs without piling up bass as you roll it down. Vintage-style F tuners and a 3-ply parchment pickguard.

For the same pickups on a fixed bridge and an alder body, see the 1966 Telecaster DLX Closet Classic. The 1963 Esquire Custom Bigsby DLX Closet Classic puts a Bigsby on a single-pickup, bound body, and the John 5 Signature Bigsby Telecaster is the artist take.

Finishes are 3-Color Sunburst, Candy Apple Red and Natural Blonde, all with a maple board.

The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
