Why this one made the wall

A left-handed '59 Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop, finished in Competition Burgundy with a Vintage White competition stripe. The body is routed for a humbucker in the bridge and carries a Lindy Fralin Pure PAF, paired with Hand-Wound Fat '50s single-coils in the neck and middle, the middle reverse wound and reverse polarity. All three pickups wear black covers.

The two-piece alder body is finished in nitro lacquer with a Relic treatment, and the neck is taken further, to Heavy Relic. It is quartersawn maple in a light tint nitro finish, carved to a '59 Esquire "C" at .790" at the first fret and .970" at the twelfth, under a AAA dark rosewood slab fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets. A bone nut, vintage-style left-handed tuners and a 4-bolt neck plate keep the rest of the hardware vintage.

Weight is 7 lb 15 oz. It ships in a brown Fender Custom Shop Strat/Tele case with a certificate of authenticity, strap and case candy.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses our bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.
