The rosewood version of the American Custom Stratocaster puts a 3A Rosewood fingerboard on a 2A roasted birdseye maple neck, over a two-piece select ash body. Gold hardware and a 1-Ply Black Anodized Aluminum pickguard set the look, and three Custom Shop Hand-Wound Dual-Mag II Strat pickups do the work, with a reverse-wound, reverse-polarity middle that cancels hum in positions 2 and 4.
The neck has a 1959 "D" carve, a fuller profile than a slim modern C, with 21 Jumbo (6100) frets on a 9.5" to 12" compound radius. Rounder near the nut for chords, flatter up high so bends don't choke. A blend control adds the neck pickup to positions 1 and 2, and the bridge is a vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles.
Two finishes: 3-Color Sunburst and Vintage Blonde. For a one-piece maple neck, see the American Custom Stratocaster NOS Maple. The American Custom Stratocaster NOS offers ebony and flame maple boards with stainless steel frets.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
