The Artisan Koa Precision Bass puts a flame koa top on a two-piece select mahogany body, finished in Natural in NOS condition with a 4-ply brown shell pickguard. A quartersawn 3A maple neck and an ebony fingerboard complete the woods.
The fingerboard runs a 7.25" to 9.5" vintage compound radius, round near the nut and a little flatter up the neck. The carve is the 1960 P Bass Oval "C", with a 1.75" bone nut and 20 Medium Jumbo (6150) frets. One Custom Shop Hand-Wound '62 Precision Bass pickup with volume and tone, and an RSD Designed HiMass bridge.
For a flame maple top over mahogany with Relic aging, see the Artisan Flame Maple Top Precision Bass Relic.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from bass to bass, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
