Our take

Who this one is for

The Artisan Korina Telecaster has a thinline semi-hollow korina body with a single f-hole, finished in Aged Natural nitrocellulose lacquer in NOS condition. Korina is a light, fine-grained African wood often compared to mahogany, and the natural finish leaves its grain in view.

The pickup pairing is unusual for a Tele. At the bridge is a Custom Shop Hand-Wound '50-'51 Blackguard Single-Coil Tele, a recreation of the earliest Blackguard bridge pickup with large alnico 3 magnets, and at the neck a Custom Shop P90. A three-way blade, master volume and master tone. The roasted quartersawn maple neck has a '60s Oval "C" carve and a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard on a 9.5" to 12" compound radius, with vintage clay dots and 21 Jumbo (6100) frets. The bridge is a '58-'63 Tele unit with brass RSD saddles.

The Artisan Korina Stratocaster is its sibling. For two P90s in a thinline Tele, see the Artisan Maple Burl Dual P90 Telecaster.

The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
