Our take

Who this one is for

The Artisan Maple Burl Dual P90 Telecaster has a lightweight thinline body in one-piece vintage Michigan mahogany with a maple burl top, finished in Aged Natural lacquer in NOS condition. Two Custom Shop P90 pickups sit on a three-way switch with one volume and one tone.

The 3A roasted flame maple neck has a 1960 Oval "C" carve and a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard on a 9.5" to 12" compound radius, with vintage clay dots and 21 Narrow Tall (6105) frets. The compound radius stays round for chords near the nut and flattens toward the body, so high bends are less likely to choke.

For the same pickups with a flame maple top and Relic aging, see the Artisan Dual P90 Flame Maple Top Tele Relic. The Artisan Koa Dual P90 Strat is the Strat take on this build, and the Artisan Korina Telecaster pairs one P90 with a Blackguard bridge pickup.

The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
