The Artisan Maple Burl Jazz Bass puts a maple burl top on a two-piece select ash body with an offset seam, finished in Aged Natural in NOS condition with a 4-ply brown shell pickguard. The neck is 3A roasted flame maple with a 3A Rosewood fingerboard.
Two Custom Shop Hand-Wound '60s Jazz Bass Heavy Beveled Alnico V pickups run with a volume for each and a master tone, the classic Jazz Bass layout. The 1960 Jazz Bass "U" is a full, rounded carve, paired with the narrow 1.5" bone nut, a 9.5" radius and 20 Medium Jumbo (6150) frets. An RSD Designed HiMass bridge and vintage oval paddle tuners finish it.
The Artisan Maple Burl Jazz Bass Relic is the aged version. For the same neck carve on an ash body without the burl top, see the American Custom Jazz Bass NOS.
The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from bass to bass, so the one built for you will differ in the details.
