Who this one is for

The Johnny A. Signature Stratocaster brings together the details of his four favourite years, 1963 to 1966. A two-piece select alder body with an offset seam wears a Time Capsule flash coat lacquer finish, a thin lacquer coat, with a 3-ply mint green pickguard.

The 3A birdseye maple neck has a 1965 "C" carve and a round-laminated 3A rosewood board with a 7.25" radius and 21 medium jumbo 6150 frets, so it feels vintage in the hand while bends are less likely to choke than on small frets. Custom Shop hand-wound 11/56 single-coils sit in the neck and middle, with a special design bridge pickup. The wiring adds a blend control, so the neck pickup can be dialled into bridge positions and the bridge into neck positions, and the master volume has a Tone-Saver bleed to keep the top end as you roll it down.

Two finishes are offered: Lydian Gold Metallic, and Sunset Glow Metallic with Gold Hardware. For a straight mid '60s Strat with a relic finish, compare the 1965 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
