Who this one is for

In 1997 Rory Gallagher's brother Donal handed the guitarist's heavily worn 1961 Stratocaster to Custom Shop designers in Los Angeles, and this is the replica built from it. The 3-Color Sunburst Relic finish follows the wear pattern of Rory's original, and the odd details are copied too: five Sperzel tuners with one mismatched Gotoh, and a white plastic dot at the 12th fret among the clay dots.

Under the wear it is an early sixties Strat. The early '60s "C" maple neck has a 9.5" radius rosewood board and medium jumbo frets, flatter and bigger than a factory 1961 would have left with. Three Custom '60s single-coils run through a 3-position blade, as on Rory's guitar: bridge, middle or neck, with no in-between settings.

For a sixties Strat without the artist history, look at the 1960 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic or the 1962 Stratocaster Relic. The Gallagher is offered in one finish, 3-Color Sunburst, with a rosewood board.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
