The Dirty Shirley 1x12 Combo is Friedman's single-channel, 40-watt amp in an open-back cabinet with a 16 ohm Celestion G12H Redback. The circuit starts from a modified JTM 45 with two 5881s and three 12AX7s, and it is voiced for classic rock in the style of British amps from the 60s and 70s: vintage crunch with the gain up, clean when you back off the guitar's volume.
The controls are Gain, Master Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence, with high and low sensitivity inputs. Pedals go in front, and the series effects loop takes delays and rack units. The cabinet is tongue and groove Baltic Birch, and the amp is handcrafted in the USA.
The Dirty Shirley Head is the same amp for players with a cabinet already. The Twin Sister 1x12 Combo is the same size and speaker with two Dirty Shirley channels instead of one, and the Smallbox 1x12 Combo adds a high-gain channel to a plexi channel.
