The Jose-20 Combo puts the Jose-20 circuit in a 1x12 cabinet loaded with a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback, the speaker Dave Friedman chose for this series. It's 20 watts from two EL84s, with four 12AX7s and custom made transformers, handcrafted in Los Angeles. Friedman developed it with Marisol Arredondo, working from the modified British amps her father Jose Arredondo was known for.
Volume I and Volume II are bridged internally, the patch-cable channel-jumping trick done for you. The Plexi/Gain switch adds a true extra gain stage, the Fat switch adds body and low end, and the three-position Gain Style switch moves the master volume within the circuit and adds diode clipping for three different gain structures. A System Master Volume and a transparent series effects loop round it out.
Against the Jose-20 Head, it's one box to carry instead of two, at 45 lbs. Take the head if you already have a cab you like, or the Jose-100 Head if you want 100 watts from four EL34s with dual Presence controls.
