The Pink Taco V2 Combo is Friedman's hand-wired, single-channel 20-watt amp in a 1x12 cabinet with a 16 ohm Celestion G12M-65 Creamback. It is cathode biased, with two EL84s and three 12AX7s, and Friedman designed it to give a small EL84 amp the tight bottom end and midrange of a 100-watt EL34 head. The goal was the BE-100 sound in a smaller, simpler package. Gain, master, bass, middle and treble cover blues through classic rock to heavy rock and metal, and it cleans up from the guitar's volume control at higher gain settings.
The S-Switch changes the gain structure, and Sat and Fat switches reshape the voicing from there. An ultra-transparent series effects loop and 4, 8 and 16 ohm jacks sit on the back. The cabinet is tongue and groove Baltic Birch, assembled in Los Angeles and covered by Friedman's limited lifetime warranty.
The Little Sister Combo uses the same cabinet size, speaker and tube set with a different voice, aimed at 60s and 70s British classic rock rather than BE-style gain. The Runt-20 Combo adds a second, clean channel and a silent-recording internal load. The Pink Taco V2 Head is this amp without the speaker, at 22 lbs against the combo's 45.
