Who this one is for

PRS amp designer Doug Sewell describes the Archon Classic 50 as a newly voiced Archon rather than a reissue. It keeps the two-channel, 50-watt format, with JJ 6CA7 power tubes and JJ ECC83S preamp tubes, and reworks the gain structure. The Lead channel offers a wider range of gain flavours, especially through the midrange, and the Clean channel runs hotter, going from clean to the edge of breakup without a boost pedal.

Both channels have volume, master, bright switch and 3-band EQ. The global Depth control lets you choose between a tight, focused low end and a looser, bass-heavy one, while Presence pushes the high mids forward. There is a tube-driven series loop for a pedalboard.

Sewell aimed it at players chasing 70s and 80s rock tones. Compare it with the Archon 50 Head, which reaches further into metal, and pair it with an Archon 2x12 Cabinet.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
