The DG Custom 30 is the David Grissom signature amp that came more than a decade before the DGT 15, a 30-watt single-channel head from a three-year collaboration between Grissom and PRS amp designer Doug Sewell. It is built in the USA in a fingerjointed pine cabinet with blonde Tolex, salt and pepper grill cloth and a cherry-stained mahogany fascia.
Four 6P14P-EV / 7189 power tubes run cathode biased, with three 12AX7s and a 12AT7 ahead of them. The front carries the bright switch, volume, reverb, a 3-band EQ and master. Top cut, the gain boost switch and presence live on the rear panel.
Our pairing is the DG 2x12 Cabinet, dressed in the same blonde Tolex and Vintage Cherry mahogany fascia, loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s and matched at 8 ohms. If you want Grissom's amp in a smaller format with tremolo and a footswitchable boost, look at the DGT 15 Head.
