The Badger 18 is the Badger head with a 5Y3GT tube rectifier feeding two EL84s, for about 15 watts. It is a single-channel, cathode-biased amp, so power tubes can be changed without a bias adjustment, and it follows the guitar's volume control and the weight of your picking hand.
Power Scaling sets the voltage to the output section and the Drive control tracks it, which takes the amp down as far as 1 watt while keeping the feel of a head run flat out. A footswitchable MOSFET Boost in the preamp opens up cleaner and dirtier settings, and the effects loop is tube driven and buffered, so it takes pedals and line level rack gear alike.
Of the three Badgers, this is the one with the tube rectifier. The Badger 35 Head runs four EL84s on a solid state rectifier for about 30 watts, and the Badger 30 Head moves to a pair of EL34s at about 25. Suhr's matching cabinet is the Badger 1x12 Cabinet, loaded with a Warehouse Veteran 30.
