The MiniMix II is a line mixer that turns an amp's series effects loop into a parallel loop. The amp's own signal stays on its path while the processor's output is mixed back in, so the dry tone does not pass through the processor's converters. Suhr rates it at better than 0.004% total harmonic distortion and noise, with a flat response from 20Hz to 20kHz.
It takes two processors in parallel and accepts either instrument-level or line-level signal. A control jack lets you mute the dry or the wet signal remotely, an isolation transformer deals with ground loops, and it runs on a 9Vdc supply. Any effect in the loop has to be able to run 100% wet for the parallel setup to work.
For a wet/dry rig fed from an amp's speaker output, compare the ISO Line Out.
