The 312ce-N is a nylon-string Grand Concert in solid sapele with a Sitka spruce top, a soft cutaway and ES-N electronics. Taylor voices it with a punchy midrange and clear highs, which suits fingerstyle playing, and the compact body is comfortable to sit behind for a long session.
The 1-7/8" nut leaves room between the strings for fingerpicking without straining the fretting hand. Gemstone inlays, black binding on the body and fretboard, and a gloss top over satin back and sides finish it. For the same woods with a Venetian cutaway, look at the 314ce-N; for solid Indian rosewood on the Grand Concert body, the 812ce-N.
