The Academy 12e-N is a nylon-string Grand Concert with a solid torrefied spruce top and layered walnut back and sides. It's a non-cutaway body with a built-in armrest, which takes the edge out from under the picking arm, in a varnish finish with an ebony fretboard and bridge.
The 1-7/8" nut leaves room between the strings for fingerstyle playing without overworking the fretting hand, and there's a pickup onboard for plugging in. The compact body and the armrest make it easy to hold for someone still learning. For a cutaway, a 12-fret neck and layered sapele, look at the 112ce-N.
