The Jacob Collier Signature Model 5-String is a US-built Grand Concert in solid, Select-grade Hawaiian koa top, back and sides, braced with V-Class and tuned DAEAD. Taylor designed it with Collier as the five-string edition of his signature model.
Taylor picks ebony with natural marbling, streaked dark brown and caramel, for the fretboard, bridge and peghead veneer, and the bridge pins are ebony too. The body is unbound with chamfered edges, with a black/maple/black single-ring rosette, mother-of-pearl dots and Gotoh 510 tuners in antique chrome. Between the koa variegation and the ebony, no two of these look the same.
Taylor pitches the tuning both ways: simpler chord shapes for a beginner, and fresh voicings for an experienced player. The Jacob Collier Academy 22e 5-String has the same tuning and body shape in walnut with Fishman electronics, and the Jacob Collier GS Mini 5-String puts it in the smaller GS Mini.
