The I-35 LC Vintage is Collings' laminated semi-hollow reworked with the 1960s in mind. Collings changed the laminate and centre block recipes and the neck construction to get a looser, more organic feel, then fitted custom Throbak ESG-102B pickups, Luxe Bumblebee capacitors and its own aged finish and aged hardware. The nitro lacquer is aged, and the reflector top knobs come in gold or black.
It keeps the I-35 outline at 15" wide and 1 5/8" deep, with a maple and spruce centre block that resists feedback, a Kluson ABR-1 bridge and stop tailpiece, and 50s-style wiring. Collings strings it with D'Addario 10s, lighter than the 11s on the other I-35 models. The Honduran mahogany neck has a 1 11/16" nut and a 24 7/8" scale.
