Who this one is for

The American Series Soloist SL2 DX is a Corona, California build: an alder Soloist body with a 3-piece maple neck running through it, reinforced with graphite, and the Jackson Speed Neck carve. The ebony board has a 12" to 16" compound radius that flattens out higher up for bends, with 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, inverted mother of pearl sharkfins and Luminlay side dots.

A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 and '59 SH-1N run through a 5-way blade, where positions 2 and 4 combine single coils from the two pickups. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series double-locking tremolo and locking nut hold the tuning through dives and flutters, backed by Gotoh MG-T locking tuners.

For a fixed Hipshot bridge, see the SL2 DX HT. The MJ Series Soloist SL2 is the made-in-Japan Soloist, with a Seymour Duncan Jazz SH-2N at the neck and a Gotoh GE1996T Series tremolo. Satin Black, Lemon Ice and Snow White all come with black hardware on an ebony board, and the neck finish follows the colour.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
