Our take

Who this one is for

Rob Caggiano's USA Signature Shadowcaster is an offset shape descended from Jackson's mid-1990s Outcaster. The alder body wears a 1/8" quilt maple top under a gloss Trans Purple Fade, with a matching 3x3 headstock and chrome hardware, and the bolt-on quartersawn maple neck has graphite reinforcement, a scarf joint and a hand-rubbed urethane finish.

The ebony board has a 12" to 16" compound radius and 24 jumbo frets, with no face inlays and Luminlay side dots for dark stages. A DiMarzio Rob Caggiano Signature humbucker at the bridge and a DiMarzio Air Norton DP193 at the neck run through a volume, a tone and a five-way blade. Between the full bridge and full neck settings, the blade pairs single coils from each pickup, with the inner and outer coils available in both series and parallel.

A TonePros TOM-style bridge with an anchored locking tailpiece and Sperzel die-cast locking tuners hold the tuning, and Dunlop flush mount Straplok retainers are fitted.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
