The American Series Soloist SL2MG HT pairs active EMG 81 and EMG 85 humbuckers with a fixed Hipshot bridge, on an alder Soloist body made in Corona, California. The maple neck runs through the body with graphite reinforcement and has the Speed Neck carve, under an ebony board with a 12" to 16" compound radius, 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, inverted mother of pearl sharkfins and Luminlay side dots.
The 81 is at the bridge and the 85 at the neck, on a 3-way blade with one volume and one tone. HT means hardtail, and with Gotoh MG-T locking tuners it is quick to restring and easy to drop into another tuning.
The SL2MG is the same EMG-loaded Soloist with a Floyd Rose 1500 Series tremolo. If you'd rather have Seymour Duncans and a 5-way blade with coil combinations, the SL2 DX HT is the hardtail to compare. This one comes in Satin Black with a colour-matched neck and black hardware.
