The MJ Series Soloist SL2 is the Soloist built in Japan: an alder body with a three-piece maple neck running through it, reinforced by graphite rods and gloss-finished to match the body. The ebony board carries 24 jumbo frets on a 12" to 16" compound radius, which flattens toward the top of the neck for bends, plus pearloid sharkfin inlays and Luminlay side dots.
A recessed Gotoh GE1996T Series Double-Locking Tremolo and a Floyd Rose R3 locking nut bring it back to pitch after heavy bar work. A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 at the bridge and a Jazz SH-2N at the neck run through a 3-way toggle with one volume and one tone, and the hardware is black.
The USA Select Soloist SL2H is the US-built relative, with a Floyd Rose Original and a '59 at the neck. Snow White or Gloss Black, both on ebony.
