Our take

Who this one is for

The USA Select Randy Rhoads RR1 is Jackson's US-built Rhoads with a Floyd Rose: an alder body with a quartersawn maple neck-through, scarf-jointed at the headstock with a dual-action truss rod. The ebony board has 22 jumbo frets on a 12" to 16" compound radius with mother of pearl sharkfin inlays.

A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 and a Jazz SH-2N run through a 3-way toggle, a master volume and a tone control for each pickup, so neck and bridge can be set independently. The Floyd Rose Original Double-Locking Tremolo and locking nut return to pitch after heavy bar use.

The USA Select Randy Rhoads RR1T is the same guitar with a fixed bridge. The RR1 comes in Snow White w/ Black Pinstripes, Gloss Black and Snow White, all on ebony, and some trim follows the finish: a gloss or satin urethane neck, no pickguard or a 1-ply anodized aluminum one, and dome-style or black knurled flat-top knobs.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
