Who this one is for

The Custom 24 "Floyd" takes the Custom 24 body, figured maple over mahogany with the violin carve, and builds it for heavy playing and hard vibrato work. The neck is one-piece maple with an ebony board and jumbo frets, the bridge is an Original Floyd Rose with a PR-11 locking nut, and the pickups are PRS's \ m / (metal) pair.

A double-locking Floyd clamps the strings at the nut and again at the bridge, which is how it holds pitch through the deepest dives. That's also why the tuners are Phase III Non-Locking, since the nut does the locking. The jumbo wire, .110" wide and .055" tall, is taller than the standard wire on the Custom 24, so there's more to dig into. PRS designed the \ m / pickups for heavier styles, aggressive and still articulate.

This is the Custom for a player who uses the bar hard and plays with gain. If you don't need double-locking, compare the Custom 24 with its Gen III tremolo, mahogany neck and rosewood board. Our pick is Black Rainbow Holoflake Top & Binding (Natural Back), a metal-flake top on the metal Custom.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
