The Mark Tremonti is the signature model PRS built with the guitarist of Alter Bridge and Creed. PRS first sent him a McCarty, then worked with him on a guitar suited to his playing: a 22-fret, 25" scale solidbody with a violin-carved maple top, a mahogany back and Tremonti pickups.
He wanted pickups with more aggression for rhythm playing heavy on palm muting, and PRS says they deliver power and articulation clean or at high gain. The Tremonti neck carve is 53/64" deep at the first fret, shallower than PRS's 7/8" Pattern neck. Each pickup has its own volume and tone with a 3-way toggle, and the tuners are Phase III Locking.
It suits rock and heavier players who want a slimmer neck and hotter pickups. Compare it with the PRS Mark Holcomb, which shares the 53/64" neck depth but goes to 24 frets, a 25.5" scale and Drop C. Our pick is Charcoal Purple Burst, dark with a strong hit of colour.
For the Bridge, Tremolo is the PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen III with a trem-up route, so the bar can raise pitch as well as lower it.
