Who this one is for

The Standard 24 Satin is PRS's all-mahogany solidbody and traces back to the mahogany guitars Paul Reed Smith built before there was a factory. A violin-carved mahogany body meets a one-piece mahogany neck in the Pattern Thin shape, with 24 frets on a 25" scale and a pair of DMO pickups.

PRS describes the all-mahogany build as warm, full and forward in the mids, and the DMOs as open and vocal from the bass strings to the treble. The Pattern Thin neck is 53/64" deep at the first fret, a slim carve for players who cover a lot of the 10" radius rosewood board.

This one suits a player who wants PRS feel in a guitar that is mahogany top to back, with smoked black hardware and Birds on the board. Set it beside the Custom 24, which shares the neck, scale and pickup layout but adds a figured maple cap under high-gloss nitro. Our pick is Matcha Green, a colour that sits well against the smoked black hardware.

The finish is satin nitro, which PRS calls "sinky", with a stripped-down look and a feel built for the road. For high-gloss nitro, look to the Custom 24.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
