Who this one is for

The Silver Sky Satin is the satin-finish version of the PRS Silver Sky, the guitar John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith developed together. It keeps the alder body, the three 635JM single coils and the bolt-on maple neck, finished in satin nitro and offered in its own colours.

The playing details match the gloss model. A 7.25" radius board with Small Birds sits on a 25.5" scale, and a 5-way blade works with one volume and two tones. PRS mounts the steel tremolo flush on the body so it only lowers pitch, giving the bridge more contact with the wood. Locking vintage-style tuners and a bone nut complete it.

Choose between this and the gloss Silver Sky on sheen and colour. Satin has a lower lustre than gloss, and Moc Sand, Faded Black Tee, Mojave Brown and Black Plum appear only here. The Fingerboard option works as it does on the gloss guitar. Rosewood brings the 635JM-R neck, rounded slightly in the shoulders, and maple brings the original 635JM, a touch slimmer at the first fret (27/32" against 55/64").

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
