Who this one is for

The McCarty 594 Hollowbody II is PRS's fully hollow Hollowbody II fitted with the McCarty 594's neck, bridge and electronics. The body pairs a violin-carved maple top and a maple back with mahogany between them, and the neck is the 22-fret, 24.594" scale Pattern Vintage with a bound rosewood fretboard and bird inlays.

Fully hollow means there's no centre block, so the top and back are left free to resonate, and PRS describes the result as warm and woody. Two McCarty III humbuckers each have their own volume and push/pull tone, giving humbucking and single-coil sounds from one pair of pickups. The PRS Two-Piece bridge, bone nut and Phase III tuners come straight from the 594 solidbody.

This one is for the player who already likes the McCarty 594's neck and controls and wants them in a hollow body. Its closest relative is the PRS Hollowbody II Piezo, which keeps a 25" scale and a Pattern neck and adds an LR Baggs/PRS piezo system. Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
