Who this one is for

The S2 McCarty 594 brings PRS's McCarty 594 layout to the S2 line, and the neck is the place to start: a bound, 22-fret Pattern Vintage carve on a 24.594" scale. It's set into a maple-topped mahogany body that PRS makes slightly thicker in the back, with two 58/15 LT humbuckers, a PRS Two-Piece bridge and Phase III Non-Locking Tuners.

Pattern Vintage is deeper than Pattern Thin or Pattern Regular, 7/8" at the first fret and 63/64" at the twelfth, and the 24.594" scale means a little less string tension than PRS's 25" models. Each pickup has its own volume and push/pull tone, which gets you humbucker and single-coil sounds and lets you balance the pickups against each other in the middle position, with the toggle up on the upper bout. PRS says the thicker back adds sustain, and the zinc bridge with brass saddles is built for resonance.

This is the S2 for players who like a substantial neck and a vintage-style two-humbucker guitar with independent controls. The S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut has the same specs in a single-cutaway body, and the S2 McCarty 594 Thinline goes all-mahogany with a Pattern Thin neck. Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
