Who this one is for

The S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut is the single-cutaway member of the McCarty 594 family in PRS's S2 line. Its spec sheet matches the double-cut: a maple top over a mahogany back, a set mahogany neck with the bound 22-fret Pattern Vintage carve, Birds on a rosewood board and the 24.594" scale.

That shorter scale gives a slightly slinkier feel than a 25" PRS, and the Pattern Vintage neck, 7/8" deep at the first fret, fills the hand. The two 58/15 LT humbuckers are wound in Maryland, and with a volume and a push/pull tone for each one you can run full humbuckers, drop into single-coil sounds or set the pickups at different levels for the middle toggle position. PRS fits its zinc and brass Two-Piece bridge with steel studs and Phase III Non-Locking Tuners, and says the guitar is intonated along the whole length of the neck. The frets are PRS Vintage Fret Wire, .110" wide.

Choose the Singlecut if a single-cutaway shape is what you reach for, and the S2 McCarty 594 if you prefer PRS's double-cut outline. Beyond the body shape, the two spec sheets are the same, so it comes down to which one feels like yours. Our pick is Black Amber, which we think looks right on a singlecut with nickel hardware.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
