Our take

Who this one is for

PRS's S2 Mira 594 also comes in satin, and this is that version: solid mahogany body, set mahogany neck, 22 frets on a 24.594" scale, a pair of 58/15 LT humbuckers and a PRS Stoptail with brass inserts, in a low-sheen satin nitro finish.

The Pattern Thin neck is 53/64" deep at the first fret, and the rosewood board carries faux bone binding with bird inlays and a 10" radius. PRS designed the stoptail with curved string slots, brass inserts and brass studs. Each pickup has its own mini toggle coil tap alongside the 3-way pickup switch, so the switching goes well beyond a single split.

We'd point players who like the Mira's shorter scale and fixed bridge, and prefer a satin finish, straight to this one. The gloss S2 Mira 594 has its own colour list, including Vintage Cherry. For a satin S2 with a tremolo and a fuller neck, compare the S2 Standard 22 Satin, with its 25" scale and Pattern Regular carve.

Our pick is Dark Cherry Sunburst. It's the one sunburst on the satin Mira's list, and it suits an all-mahogany guitar with a bound board.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
