Our take

Who this one is for

The S2 Vela HHT is new to the S2 series for 2026. It takes PRS's offset Vela and gives it a more modern layout, with a PRS DS-01 humbucker in both positions and a PRS Patented Tremolo. The mahogany body and set mahogany neck stay, along with the 22-fret Pattern Regular carve and 25" scale.

PRS credits the DS-01's exposed pole pieces with a sharper attack, and says the pair adds a beefier low end to the Vela's sparkling cleans. The push/pull tone control taps the humbuckers. With the tremolo come PRS Phase III Locking Tuners, which lock the string at the post to help it return to pitch.

This is the Vela for players who want humbuckers in both positions and a vibrato arm. The S2 Vela keeps the DS-01 and Narrowfield pairing with a plate-style bridge, and the S2 Vela Semi-Hollow adds a chambered body to that layout. The S2 Vela HHT Satin is this guitar in a low-sheen finish.

Our pick is Red Apple Metallic. It's the one gloss colour on the HHT list that the other gloss Velas don't offer, which suits the newest member of the family.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
