Who this one is for

The S2 Vela Satin is PRS's offset solidbody S2 Vela, finished in low-sheen satin nitro instead of high-gloss. The build is the same: a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, a DS-01 humbucker in the treble position with a Narrowfield in the bass, a plate-style bridge and PRS Phase III Non-Locking Tuners.

The Pattern Regular neck is 1 21/32" at the nut and 27/32" deep at the first fret, over a rosewood board with a 10" radius and bird inlays. The push/pull tone control splits the DS-01, giving you single-coil sounds on the treble side without giving up the humbucker. PRS designed the steel plate-style bridge to be easy to string and fully intonating.

We'd steer anyone who likes the Vela's shape but wants a quieter finish toward this one. The gloss S2 Vela has its own colour list, including Antique White. For the same finish with a chambered body, look at the S2 Vela Semi-Hollow Satin, and for two humbuckers and a tremolo, the S2 Vela HHT Satin.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
