Who this one is for

The Tekton is the start of a new PRS family built around what modern players kept asking for: a thinner neck, a flatter 16" radius, stainless steel frets, a 25.5" scale and pickups that sound as good into a modeller as into a tube amp. This is the hardtail.

The body is a new shape, cut down from the Vela and the Custom, with a figured mango top, a deep upper-horn scoop and a belly carve. The neck is a slim Modern "D" on a bolt-on joint, with offset dot inlays and blue Luminlay side dots you can read on a dark stage. String spacing matches the Silver Sky, a little wider than PRS's traditional spacing.

PRS Stylus humbuckers are voiced lower and flatter than a typical high-gain set, about 13k (treble) and 11k (bass) DC resistance on Alnico 5 magnets, so notes stay defined under gain and the push/pull tone splits both coils for cleaner sounds. The string-through hardtail keeps tuning and intonation simple.

Pick the Tekton if you don't use a vibrato and want the simplest of the four. The Tekton T is the same guitar with a PRS two-point tremolo, the "Floyd" moves to an alder body and a Floyd Rose, and the SVN is the 7-string. Bloodstone Red and Fuchsia Aura come with a black satin neck; the other four finishes have a natural maple neck.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
