Our take

Who this one is for

The Tekton "Floyd" is the one for dive bombs: a Floyd Rose 1000 Series with a 16" radius to match the fretboard, on the Tekton's thin Modern "D" neck with stainless steel frets and a 25.5" scale.

It's the only Tekton with an alder body, finished in solid and metallic colours where the others have a figured mango top. The double-locking Floyd holds tuning through dives and flutters, which is why it uses PRS Phase III non-locking tuners.

Stylus humbuckers are voiced flatter than a typical high-gain set, so fast lines stay defined under gain and they translate well into a modeller. The push/pull tone splits both coils for cleaner sounds.

Hot Pink, Neon Green and White Holoflake come with a black satin neck; Pearl Black, Purple Royale and Multi-Metal Flake have a natural maple neck. If you want a trem but not a locking system, look at the Tekton T.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
