The Angel 7 brings the Angel's 24-fret design to seven strings. Anderson started from the Angel and drew on its earlier Drop Top 7 and Pro Am 7 work to build it, with a figured top over an alder or basswood back and a 1.875" nut to carry the extra string.
The seventh string extends the range down, and the 24 frets keep the full upper range of the six-string Angel. The body has the family's deep cutaways for upper-fret access and contours front and back. There are no pickup rings, which Anderson says lets the neck pickup sit nearer the 24th-fret harmonic. It comes in a 25-1/2" scale or the shorter 24-3/4".
This is the one for a seven-string player who wants a figured top. For the same guitar on an all-tonewood body, look at the Angel Player 7. For six strings, look at the Angel.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Ocean Storm Double Wipeout, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
