The Wolfhound is the mahogany member of Anderson's beveled-edge family. The body is mahogany or a mahogany-like wood, the neck back is mahogany, and the scale is 24-3/4", with a Tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece and no pickguard.
Anderson positions the neck pickup a touch toward the bridge from the 24th-fret harmonic point, which by their account gives a clearer, more usable neck tone. The 24-3/4" scale carries slightly lower string tension than 25-1/2". It suits a player who wants a mahogany guitar with a fixed Tune-o-matic setup in a lighter, slimmer body.
For the same body in alder, swamp ash, basswood, Spanish cedar or roasted pine on a maple neck, look at the Wolfhound Mutt. The Dire Wolfhound has a regular-thickness body and takes tremolo options. The Raven Superbird shares the mahogany, 24-3/4" recipe on the offset body.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Olympic White, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
